GAG, Geothermal Association of Ghana

About Us

Who We Are

The Geothermal Association of Ghana (GAG) is a professional association dedicated to the study and responsible development of geothermal energy in Ghana.

We bring together people with diverse professional and academic backgrounds to share knowledge and explore Ghana’s geothermal potential. We also help students, policymakers and the wider public understand geothermal energy and its applications.

Our role is to strengthen Ghana’s ability to assess its geothermal resources and determine how they could contribute to the country’s energy mix.

Our Founding Story

GAG began with the shared vision of SISQUAD Group’s founders to explore Ghana’s geothermal potential through SISQUAD Energy. Inspired by direct industry experience in California’s Salton Sea Geothermal Field, they established the association to bring together a wider community to investigate what geothermal energy could offer Ghana.

Our Vision

A Ghana where geothermal energy contributes to the national energy mix, supported by skilled Ghanaian professionals.

Our Mission

To advance geothermal research, education and professional expertise in Ghana, and support informed decisions about its development.

Core Values: HEAT

Our values describe how we work. Together, they form HEAT.
